Objective / Purpose

 

The Senior Financial Analyst will report to the Chief Investment Officer and will work closely with the entire senior executive team across the Company’s real estate investment, asset management, operations, fundraising, and investor relations activities to drive efficiency and deliver performance improvement.

Areas of Responsibility (AOR)

Primary areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Prepares all the financial projections and analyses of the existing properties, prospective acquisitions and new development projections, investment return analyses, budgeting, and project structuring.
  • Serves in an advisory capacity to the CIO and/or CFO in managing all real estate investments, management services, insurance, real estate taxes, reserve distribution and profitability of investment properties.
  • Assists in researching, preparing and assembling investment packages for distribution to senior management and our external capital partners.
  • Interact with hotel leaders with respect to the performance of departmental revenue and profit goals and assist with the interpretation of financial and benchmarking data.
  • Coordinates the collection, distribution, and review of due diligence materials within the Company and from external third parties. 
  • Coordinates and directs communication with all lenders, investors and in-house financial sources including asset reporting.
  • Coordinates and collaborates with construction accounting on monthly job cost details including review and approval of construction draws.
  • Conducts market research for real estate assets and other industry related customized research.
  • Establishes networking and relationship building with key lender contacts, investor partners, brokers, and hotel consultant/appraisers.
  • Visits existing and potential investments to assess the properties and attend periodic industry functions/conferences as appropriate.
  • Collaborates closely with other team leaders specifically but not limited to: CEO, President, President of Hotel Operations, and Kessler Investments Savannah in the strategic planning, growth, and profitability of the company.

Minimum Qualifications

Education, License, Certifications, Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in related field – required
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of relevant experience in addition to extensive knowledge and experience of the broader real estate, banking, development, and hospitality industry – required
  • Knowledge of market feasibility, underwriting, asset management, and financial analysis - required
  • Proficiency with complex financial modeling in Microsoft Excel - required

 

Work Environment / Conditions

The work environment/conditions described herein are representative of those that an incumbent may experience.

  • Must be comfortable working in a shared space, with constant noise, without the use of a private office.
  • Must be able to cope with frequently changing priorities and deadlines with a high degree of optimism, professionalism & collaboration.
  • Schedules may vary from week to week based on business demands in excess of 50 hours with or without notice.
  • This role requires travel up to 40%.
